Description of the information about the Confederate Veteran's Family. The Confederate Graves Registry allows entry of both parents and descendant family members. There are no practical limits on the number of family members that can be registered with each Veteran. The Family information in entered on the following section of the entry form: 
Relationship: Can be entered two ways. First select relationship if it exists from the drop down menu. If it is not on the drop down menu, enter in Other. The drop down menu will be increased over time based upon the most frequent other relationships entered. This can be used as a search item. Name: The First, Middle and Last name of the family members and maiden name only if applicable. All fields in the name can be used as search items. Birth: Year, Month and Day. "unknown" is supported in each field so partial information can be entered. Year should be the four digit number such as "1861." Birth Year can be used as a search term. Birth Location: City, County, State and Country. Abbreviations for State should be used, for example GA. Country should be left blank if USA or CSA. Country is reserved to properly register the birth location ofr veterans who were born in other countries. All fields can be used as search entries. Add Family Member Information: Check this box and when the Submit or Edit button is clicked the form will be displayed with an additional Family Member section. Family members can be ancestral or descendant and there are no practical limits on how many can be enetered. All entered and approved Family Members will be available for veteran search. |
